Pomona Placemaking Workshop - September 17th

We'd like to cordially invite you and your neighbors to a workshop focused on applying the concept of "placemaking" to Pomona, where we identify, organize and execute on "lighter, quicker, cheaper" ways to improve existing areas of potential in Pomona; all the small changes (and all of our individual energies!) can work together to produce significant effects in our city. Learn more about placemaking and how it can transform public spaces, by downloading the Placemaking Booklet prepared by the Project for Public Spaces.

Our next meeting will be:
Sunday, September 17th from 2:00 – 4:30 pm at
Unity Church of Pomona, 524 E. Pasadena St., Pomona CA 91767

At our last Pomona Placemaking Workshop on August 5th at the dA Center for the Arts, we had nearly 60 community members participating in six different neighborhood groups identifying existing places and brainstorming about placemaking opportunities. We produced many interesting maps and identified short-term tasks to move projects forward.

We put together a web site to centralize these Pomona placemaking materials. This site (link below) includes a calendar of upcoming placemaking events, as well as images of all of the work produced by the neighborhood groups, as well as placemaking examples and resources from other communities:

Please make a note of the time and date, and bring other friends and community members who have a heart to work together, step by step, to improve Pomona. We hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Team Sandoval
