This Saturday is our Special Event "Strategic Bombing in WWII" - please come out to meet Jay Stout, Jay is the author of eleven military history books. His most recent is, “Hell’s Angels – The True Story of the 303rd Bomb Group in World War II.” Jay will present a brief history of the Bomb Group – one of the first to deploy to Europe and by war’s end, had flown 364 missions, more than any other E...ighth Air Force B-17 group.
A graduate of Purdue University in 1981, Jay was subsequently commissioned into the United States Marine Corps. After being designated a naval aviator in 1983 he flew the F-4 Phantom and the F/A-18 Hornet, and completed 37 combat missions during Operation DESERT STORM. He served in various billets at the squadron, group and wing level, and was the executive officer of VMFA-232 and the 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO). He retired in 2001 after logging nearly 4,800 flight hours.
Following his retirement, Jay flew for Delta Air Lines for several months until the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He then flew F/A-18s for the Kuwait Air Force before returning to his home in San Diego where he works as a senior analyst for a leading American defense contractor. Jay has been featured as a special consultant on various national and international radio and television networks. See More
