The Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force arrest a Suspect with two firearms and a large amount of narcotics

• 29800 (a)(1) PC- Felon possession of a firearm
• 30305 (a) PC- Felon possession of ammunition
• 30605 (a) PC- Possession of assault rifle
• 32310 PC- Possession of high capacity magazine
• 11370.1 HS- Possession of firearm and narcotics
• 11351 HS- Possession of cocaine for sales
• 11352 HS- Transportation of narcotics for sales
• 11378 HS- Possession of methamphetamine for sales
   

Suspect:

• Godinez, Hemedel, a 28 Year Old Pomona Resident

Narrative:
On Friday, February 9th, 2018, around 6:30 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) were working gang enforcement within the City of Pomona. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of E. Grand Av., in the City of Pomona. Officers made contact with Suspect Godinez who was a known fugitive. Suspect Godinez attempted to provide a false name however Officers already knew his true identity. He was immediately taken into custody without incident. The MCTF requested the assistance of our Pomona Police Canine unit to assist with a search of the Suspect Godinez vehicle for narcotics. Pomona Police Canine “Tibo” went to work and located concealed narcotics in a hidden compartment within Suspect Godinez vehicle. The MCTF obtained a search warrant for Suspect Godinez residence, Officers served the search warrant and located approximately one pound of narcotics for sales, narcotic packaging material, a fully automatic assault rifle, high capacity magazine that held 40 rounds, a .40 caliber handgun, several live ammunition rounds and approximately 14 thousand dollars in U.S currency.  
As a result of the items recovered during the search warrant and from the Suspect’s vehicle, Godinez was placed under arrest on suspicion of;

• 30305 (a) PC- Felon possession of ammunition
• 30605 (a) PC- Possession of assault rifle
• 32310 PC- Possession of high capacity magazine
• 11370.1 HS- Possession of firearm and narcotics
• 11351 HS- Possession of cocaine for sales
• 11352 HS- Transportation of narcotics for sales
• 11378 HS- Possession of methamphetamine for sales

 
 
Godinez was booked at the Pomona City Jail.
