MCTF arrests a suspected gang member for possession of a loaded firearm


Date: Saturday, March 24th, 2018

Time: 8:00 PM

Location: 700 block W. Holt Ave, Pomona, Ca

Crime:

* 29800(a)(1) PC- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
* 30305(a) PC- Felon in Possession of Ammunition
* 25850(c)(6) PC- Unregistered Firearm

Suspect:

* Becerra, Rodolfo, a 36 year old Montclair Resident

Unit:

* The Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF)


Narrative:

On Saturday, March 24th, 2018, around 8:00 PM, members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF)  conducted directed enforcement in the area of Holt Ave and Huntington Blvd due to the recent increase in gang activity. Officers in an undercover vehicle were monitoring the area when they observed a black 2003 Lincoln Aviator commit several vehicle code violations.

The officers initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who identified himself as Rodolfo Becerra. During the course of the investigation a loaded handgun was recovered.

Becerra was placed under arrest on suspicion of;

* 29800(a)(1) PC- Felon in Possession of  a Firearm
* 30305(a) PC- Felon in Possession of Ammunition
* 25850(c)(6) PC- Unregistered Firearm

Becerra was booked at the Pomona City Jail.
