Crime: Hit & Run, Drunk Driving and Willful Cruelty to a Child
Location; 200 Blk E. Kingsley Ave.
Time: 0414 hrs
Suspects: 1. Guillen, Benjamin, 26 yrs, La Puente, Cal
2. Gonzales, Alondra , 24 yrs, Baldwin Park , Cal.
A Pomona Police Officer off duty and traveling home witnessed a hit & run accident at Holt Ave. and Towne Ave. on Friday morning. The driver/victim of the hit & run vehicle was not injured. The officer followed the vehicle through the northeast neighborhood while awaiting additional police units to assist.
At one point the suspect vehicle went down a dark alley and switched driver with a female passenger. The vehicle continued traveling to the 200 Blk of E. Kingsley Ave. where the original driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled through the neighborhood. The female driver remained with the vehicle and was arrested.
A search of the neighborhood found the suspect hiding in the rear yard of a residence in the 200 BLk. of E. Kingsley Ave. The original driver was arrested and transported to the City Jail, along with his female passenger.
Located in the vehicle was a 7 yr old son. He was taken and given to a relative. An additional arrest charge of Willful Cruelty to a Child was added to both adults.
