Pomona On The Mall 1962, do you remember the Christmas Tree?

This mall was located over on East Holt Ave. where the Sears Co. use to be, now it's a swap meet, the picture is looking north.

But what I wanted to point out to you is, the metal pole, just left of the picture. That pole was used during the Christmas holidays, for the giant Christmas tree. That they use to be put up every year, with the big red star on top, where you could see it, just about everywhere in Pomona.

But this is about as close as I have come in finding a picture of the whole tree. In the shadow of the tree, you can see some metal poles extending outward for the tree limbs. The tree use to be located in the middle of the mall, there was also a Santa Clause small house that was also under the tree, where Santa would meet with the kids, and had their picture taken with Santa, I did. After the holidays, they would tear the tree, and store it, until next year.
