CRIME: 34-113(a) PCC Sell Illegal Fireworks within city limits
VICTIM: City of Pomona
SUSPECT: Steve Medina, 26 year old resident of Montclair
UNIT: Special Investigations Unit-Investigative Services Division
NARRATIVE:
On Thursday, June 18th, the Pomona PD Special Investigations Unit seized 1,000+ pounds of fireworks. During the teams firework enforcement efforts, they came in contact with a person who was actively selling fireworks in the City of Pomona. The person was arrested and eventually released with a citation to appear in court at a later date. To date the team has collected over 1,315 pounds of dangerous and illegal fireworks from the streets of Pomona.
ALL fireworks are illegal in the City of Pomona. The use of fireworks is not only dangerous to users but to others nearby, including homes and structures.
The Pomona Police Department will continue its operation and extra patrol efforts to seize and fine those in possession of fireworks. To report fireworks, please call 909-622-1241.
