Pomona Police Department

The City of #Pomona extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of George Floyd and to all those who have been impacted by his death. The tragic events of May 25th in Minnesota have deeply impacted Americans from all walks of life as the pain and frustration reverberates throughout communities across the nation, including Pomona.
The City of Pomona values our great diversity and respects the rights of citizens to gather, peacefully protest and express their views. Protests being witnessed in public spaces throughout the City are lawful and permitted, as are other gatherings to honor the life of George Floyd. Pomona Police have been present at several of these events to protect our citizens’ First Amendment rights and to ensure that our residents can safely assemble, share their thoughts, grieve and try to heal together.
The City is grateful for the sacrifice and efforts of all those who work to pursue justice, equality and opportunity for all Americans and thank residents who continue to reach out, speak up, and take part in worthy causes. We ask that all citizens be mindful of the rights, feelings and emotions of others in this trying time, and encourage peaceful assembly and discourse as we navigate through this challenge. #wearepomona
