Freddie Rodriguez announced a second round of funding for the Pomona OATH

This afternoon, Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez announced a second round of funding for the Pomona OATH (Officers Assisting the Homeless) Initiative. With funding from the first Initiative, we created the HEART Team (Homeless Encampment Action Response Team), established a full-time Quality of Life Unit, and funded 2 full-time mental health clinicians (through the LA County Department of Mental Health), to work directly with our homeless community to provide resources and services. Chief Michael Ellis said, “This is the second round of $4 million funding Assemblymember Rodriguez has secured for our City in the past 3 years. These funds will allow the Pomona Police Department and the City of Pomona to continue providing valuable services to our community.” As a department, we look forward to continuing this important work in our city and to continue our relationship with our regional partners as we work together to end homelessness.
