Open to the public, Planes of Fame Air Museum (Chino, CA) presents its monthly Living History Flying Day on February 4, 2017, featuring the Lockheed P-38 Lightning. A speaker panel of distinguished aviation experts, historians and veterans is featured, followed by a question & answer period and flight demonstration when possible. The Lockheed P-38 Lightning will be on display and perform a flight demonstration. At 12:00 noon, the Raffle Flight will occur. Become a member to enter the Raffle. All members are eligible to enter the Raffle, but you must be present to win.

Parents of toddler found wandering in Van Nuys located

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --

The parents of a little girl found wandering the streets of Van Nuys on Tuesday have been located, according to authorities.

Police said the toddler, believed to be 2 to 3 years old, was found near Kester Avenue and Sherman Way.

Officials said a father and daughter who were out for a walk spotted the child and stopped her when she was about to walk into traffic.

The girl was wearing socks but no shoes.

Officials asked the public for help locating the child's parents. Police told Eyewitness News a neighbor recognized the girl and called her family.

Authorities said they were still investigating how the child went missing and have not indicated whether an arrest would be made.

Poll: 68 percent of Californians oppose Calexit

LOS ANGELES (KABC) --

The majority of Californians oppose California succeeding from the U.S., otherwise known as the Calexit, according to the latest exclusive Eyewitness News/Southern California News Group poll conducted by SurveyUSA.

Most Californians said they didn't know much about "Yes California," which is a grassroots movement that aims to have California withdraw from the U.S. and form its own country.

In the survey, 68 percent opposed the idea and 18 percent were in favor.

The recent poll also indicated that Californians were against President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban and didn't view the president in a favorable light.

According to the survey, 46 percent of Californians were against Trump's travel ban and 58 percent said it sent the wrong message to the world.

While the majority of Californians polled said they were against the ban, 39 percent said the policy does make America safer.

On the topic of sanctuary cities, 50 percent of those polled said the cities shouldn't lose federal funding. If federal funding was to be withheld, Californians appeared to be split on whether the state should retaliate and withhold its federal tax dollars from flowing to Washington.

The survey indicated that 35 percent of Californians believe Trump is doing a worse job as president than they'd expected, while 19 percent said he was doing better than they'd expected.

According to the poll, 48 percent believe Trump will go down in history as one of America's worst presidents, while 19 percent said they believe Trump will be remembered as one of America's greatest presidents.

SurveyUSA interviewed 800 California adults statewide on Tuesday. Interviews were completed after Trump fired the interim attorney general on Monday and prior to Trump announcing his pick for the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

Placentia man arrested for 9th alleged DUI in 6 years

PLACENTIA, Calif. (KABC) --

A Placentia man who crashed into a power pole was arrested Sunday for what police said was his ninth DUI since 2011.

Placentia police say they found Derek Stacy Haskayne, 52, of Placentia, at the scene of a collision between a vehicle and an electrical box.

Officers were called to the scene of a collision at 6:05 p.m. in the 100 block of South Lakeview Avenue. They found a vehicle had crashed into a Southern California Edison electrical box and was on top of the box with live wires underneath.

After an investigation, officers arrested the driver, Haskayne, for driving under the influence.

Haskayne entered a not guilty plea on Tuesday and is expected back in court on Feb. 8.

Police say he had eight prior DUI convictions in Orange County since 2011, making the latest case a felony.

He was also charged with driving on a license that had been suspended for DUI, driving without a court-ordered ignition interlock device and violation of DUI probation.

They say he is currently on post-release community supervision for a prior felony DUI. He was booked into the Orange County Jail and was being held on no bail because of a probation hold.
