Concert for a Cause at dA, July 8th
Join us for a night of great music, great art, and great causes. Free, but donations are encouraged. Proceeds will go to Uncommon Good, a local non-profit that provides support and empowerment to local working class families through youth mentoring and tutoring programs, affordable organic produce, and many other ways.
We're going to be hosting a drum circle as well, led by Jason, so you can jam along with the performances.
The Pomona art walk is happening 6-9 in the area. Downtown Pomona comes alive with independent art galleries, art and music shows, food and craft vendors, and more.

BACKGROUND
Robert Maule, a songwriter and music producer based in LA. believes in community, compassion, and artistic expression, and he hopes to raise much-needed funds and awareness for groups that support immigrants while bringing members of the community together. Robert organized a successful concert to raise money for Planned Parenthood in February, and are hoping to expand on that success.
Uncommon Good (uncommongood.org) is a fabulous non-profit that works out of a rad adobe building in Claremont, whose mission is to "Empower families through education, medicine, and the environment." They have a program that connects local doctors with low-income patients, they run an organic farm with affordable healthy produce for sale, and they provide mentoring and tutoring programs for local low-income students. I personally planned and taught a few SAT and ACT classes at their center to help local high school students prepare for college.
The mission of the dA Center for the Arts (dacenter.org), a diverse, multi-discipline, non-profit organization is to enhance the quality of life for the greater community by educating and providing opportunities to experience, appreciate and support the arts. Since the late 1970s, the dA has provided an array of exhibitions, studio art classes and workshops, the Art Link program, a concert, cinema, dance and poetry venue, a volunteer and internship program, and a gallery store featuring local artisans. Tectonic Shift Artist Workshop with Rebecca Hammm

Artist Rebecca Hamm has designed a painting workshop for you to creatively explore natural forms in nature and the emotive qualities of color. Rebecca will share her methods of art practice by leading you through a watercolor painting experience which includes traditional materials and new technologies. THE POMONA BOWLING CENTER
What it looks like today
In 1948, Pomona's first "state of the art" bowling alley opened in the Pomona Valley. Located on the SE corner of Third and San Antonio, it provided 16 modern bowling lanes, automatic ball return, and projector scoring tables. It also hosted a small restaurant and fountain grill, not to mention billiards. During the late 40's until the 1960's, when bowling was all the rage, it was the staple of the community hosting bowling leagues, afterschool bowling programs, and family recreation. After it closed its doors, it later housed the Pomona Moose Lodge until 2007. A year later, the abandoned building burned to the ground in what was believed to be a arson-set fire. Today, all that remains is the foundation.
Living History Flying Day: P-47 July 1, 2017
Open to the public, Planes of Fame Air Museum (Chino, CA) presents its monthly Living History Flying Day on July 1, 2017, featuring the Republic P-47G Thunderbolt. A speaker panel of distinguished aviation experts, historians and veterans is featured, followed by a question & answer period and flight demonstration when possible. The Republic P-47G Thunderbolt will be on display and perform a flight demonstration. At 12:00 noon, the Raffle Flight will occur. Become a member to enter the Raffle. All members are eligible to enter the Raffle, but you must be present to win.
