The Millard Sheets Art Center's Palates & Palettes is an opportunity for friends and family to experience the joy of painting through the lens of a specific artist, region or culture
Not only will guests learn and have fun painting, the evening will also feature food and wine specific to the evening's artistic subject
Each month will feature a different artist and region that will inspire a new menu and wine pairing
All tickets are $75 and are all inclusive

Spring Railroadiana Swap Meet - March 4th

 

Details

Train enthusiasts, history buffs and those interested in learning about Southern California's railway history are encouraged to attend the Railroadiana Swap Meet at the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris. This outdoor fundraising event for the nonprofit museum will feature 180-plus tables of railroad antiques, collectibles, art, books, photos, as well as model and toy trains. Visitors can see everything from highly detailed scale models to family heirloom trains, lanterns, signs, signals and archival photos. Historians will also be on-hand to tell stories of how rail transportation shaped the Southern California we know today.

Admission including an all-day ride pass is $12 for ages 12 and up and $8 for ages 5 – 11, age 4 and under are free. Swap meet only price is $7 for ages 12 and up and $5 for ages 5 – 11. *The event is free to OERM members.

Exhibitor Info: $18 for non-members, includes one admission. Space is on first-come basis. Setup starts at 7am. Bring your own tables/chairs.

Gov. Jerry Brown will undergo further treatment for prostate cancer, office says

 

SACRAMENTO --

The Office of the Governor announced Saturday Gov. Jerry Brown will undergo further treatment for prostate cancer.

Brown, 78, will not miss any work days while undergoing treatment, his office said, which is expected to occur between late February and early March.

The California governor's oncologist issued a statement saying Brown's prognosis is "excellent."

"Fortunately this is not extensive disease, can be readily treated with a short course of radiotherapy, and there are not expected to be any significant side effects. The prognosis for Governor Brown is excellent."

Brown had treatment for the same form of cancer in 2012.
