My project has many different components, the biggest of which is the building of five Little Free Libraries to be placed throughout the community. Each Little Free Library operates on a “take-a-book, leave-a-book” system. Essentially they are a book exchange. To successfully complete my project I am filling each Little Free Library with books, as well as giving an additional box of books to each new owner. I am looking for people to “adopt” a Little Free Library, and host it on their property.
So far, in efforts to complete my project I have: fundraised through a successful car wash, collected hundreds of books, spoken at two city council meetings, helped a local Girl Scout Brownie Troop earn a badge, and begun building my libraries. Three of these Libraries are nearly completed, and I expect all five to be finished in roughly two weeks. If everything goes well I will be wrapping my project up shortly afterwards, as long as I can find a home for every library. Currently, I have homes for two of the libraries and am looking for anyone interested in adopting one of the other three.
If you can help or are interested in further details of my project, please feel free to contact me or leave a comment below. Thank You.
