More than 500 People Arrested for DUI Over Memorial Day Weekend
More than 500 people were arrested this holiday weekend for driving under the influence of a substance, and law enforcement agencies are still calculating reports.
From 12:01 a.m. Friday through midnight Sunday, officers representing 100 county law enforcement agencies have arrested 529 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Impaired driving statistic data will be collected through midnight tonight, officials said. Some agencies have yet to report DUI arrests, according to the department.
The arrests were made during the "Avoid the 100 Los Angeles County DUI Campaign." The Monrovia Police Department participates in the campaign.
