Nearby Memorial Day Events Beckon Diamond Bar-Walnut Residents


 In observance of Memorial Day, several communities near Diamond Bar and Walnut have events planned in celebration of U.S. Veterans.  

Below is a list of some nearby celebrations provided by Los Angeles County and state Sen. Bob Huff’s office that are open to the public. Enjoy!  

Sunday             

Puente Hills Concerts in the Park is hosting its 5th Annual Memorial Day Concert at 2 p.m. This year’s event honors decorated Vietnam veteran and POW Col. Kenneth R. Hughey. The free concert is on the lower level Center Court of the Puente Hills Mall, 1600 Azusa Ave., City of Industry.  

Sunday and Monday  

Knott’s Berry Farm is offering free admission to active and retired U.S. military personnel on Sunday and Monday of this Memorial Day weekend. Military personnel will be able to buy up to six discounted admission tickets to the park for $35.99. Proof of military service is required.  

Monday  
The city of West Covina with the Castucci Foundation will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. in the West Covina Civic Center Courtyard, 1444 West Garvey Ave.  

Visit the Brea Veterans Memorial all day. The tribute to veterans from the city is located at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center on Birch Street. Underground parking is free

The 75th Annual Memorial Day event is at 10 a.m. in Fullerton at the American Legion, 701 E. Bastanchury Road.  

The Forest Lawn-Covina Hills will host the Forecourt of the Life of Christ Mosaic Memorial Day Ceremonies at 10 a.m., 21300 Via Verde Drive in Covina.  

Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe will speak at 11 a.m. at the Rose Hills Memorial Park 93rd Annual Memorial Day Ceremony.  The event will be in the Gardens, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Gate One, in Whittier.  

The City of Monterey Park Memorial Day Ceremony will be hosted by the American Legion Post No. 397 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be at the veteran and war monuments on the front lawn of City Hall, 320 W. Newmark Ave.
