Edison Project to Close Second Street for Three Weeks

A Southern California Edison project will temporarily close Second Street in Claremont.
Edison will start work July 8 on replacing its existing vault on the north side of Second Street, just east of the Claremont Library driveway, according to the city's website.
The construction will require Second Street to be closed for up to three weeks between Harvard and College, officials said.
The project will require a 12-hour power outage between midnight and noon on July 7.
"So. Cal. Edison has notified all affected businesses and residents of the closure and power outage," wrote City Manager Tony Ramos in his weekly report.  "Staff will follow up with additional notification as well."
Preliminary work on Second Street to get the project prepped will take place Monday and Tuesday.  The street will remain open while this work is done, officials said.
