BIG BEAR LAKE: Big Bear's annual July 4th celebration will again feature a fireworks show put on by the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake and underwritten by the city of Big Bear Lake. The event is around 9 p.m. Beforehand there will be plenty of games and activities for kids enjoy. Another feature this year is also a ticket which includes a reserved viewing area and meal. This ticket is $50 per person. At about 3 p.m.,, the park events will wind down as people make their way to the University of Redlands Ted Runner Stadium for an evening of music, fireworks and flyovers. Gates open at 6 p.m. The show will start at 7 p.m., first with a flag ceremony then flyovers and finally parachuters floating from the sky onto the stadium's track. As the sun sets, music from Pacific Avenue and the Redlands' 4th of July Band will fill the air. The day's big show will be a 9 p.m. fireworks show. YUCCA VALLEY: The Brehm Youth Park folks at the Basinwide Foundation, along with the Tri-Valley Little League, and other have stepped up to help the local Rotary continue a longtime fireworks tradition at the town's new youth park, at the corner of Palm Avenue, and Little League Drive, across the street from the Boys & Girls Club facility. Spectators will be able to sit on the new grass fields with their blankets and chairs and still have access to the entertainment, vendor booths, as well as food and refreshments within the compound. There will be glow items, face-painting, and fun things for the family. Gates will open at 5 p.m., with live entertainment starting at 6 p.m. The fireworks show will begin shortly after 9 p.m. There will be a military equipment display and a vendor fair. YUCAIPA: Yucaipa High School. 33000 Yucaipa Blvd., will be home to the city's annual Fourth of July Carnival, which runs from Thursday through Sunday. The event will feature carnival rides and live music from a different band on each day, as well as a fireworks show on the 4th. On Thursday will be an old-fashioned barbecue and a view of fireworks from Yucaipa High School. The event will serve as a fundraising effort for the non-profit, Yucaipa Animal Placement Society. Tickets are $20 per person, and space is limited. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to bring along blankets or a fold-up chair to relax while chowing down and watching the fireworks display, organizers said.
