Growing up this was one a Safeway Market ( just a block north of where I grew up ) near the corner of Palomares and Holt, Mel's Hamburgers was on the corner. But this was just one of the places that my folk's use to shop at. The other one was Boys Market on the northwest corner of Indian Hill and Holt Ave. My folk's just bought a brand new 1963 Chevy pickup, and us kid's would jump in the back ( back then you could do that ) and go to the store, even if it was just around the corner lol, we felt like we were in a parade waving at people, crazy kid's.
