Around 300 Expected to Take Part in 'Mutt Strut'

The run will be for the blind, but people without blindness are welcomed to join.

The third annual California Council for the Blind 2K/5K Los Angeles Region run, also known as the Mutt Strut, is scheduled to take place on Sept. 7 at Crescenta Valley Park, and it will be organized by the Prom Plus club.

The run will be for the blind, but people without blindness are welcomed to join the run. About 300 people are expected to participate in the run and the Prom Plus club will be guiding the blind participants that do not wish to be guided by their dogs.

According to Mary O’Keefe, there are only two other locations outside of La Crescenta where the run will take place.

"They re only doing it in San Francisco, San Diego and La Crescenta," O’Keefe told the Crescenta Valley Town Council on Thursday. "I think they found about us because of the dog park, which is a great accomplishment on our part."
