Cafe Brentwood Brings European Flair to Brentwood Village

Bruce Marder’s latest venture offers breakfast and lunch options next door to his Brentwood Restaurant and Lounge.
Cafe Brentwood is co-owner and chef, Bruce Marder’s, European style cafe version of his neighboring restaurant and lounge. He brings a seasonal, farmer’s market edge to an eclectic breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. The cafe, located at 150 S. Barrington Ave. in  Brentwood Village is open 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., seven days a week.
“Like any business we want to be successful,” said Marder. “We have great food, service and fair pricing. We like to keep it interesting.”
Marder also runs Capo Restaurant, Cora’s Coffee Shoppe and Red Rooster Bakery in Santa Monica and wanted to continue the restaurant and cafe format in Brentwood.
Since opening June 18, Marder says they’ve been most busy during lunch, but he plans to build up the breakfast menu after the summer. For now, the cafe’s bakery offers fresh bagels, croissants and muffins along with various egg dishes. Specials are rotating every two weeks with a mix of Mexican, Italian and French fare.
Tables or counter seating is available indoors with large windows providing a well lit dining experience, as well as outdoor and sidewalk seating. Marder hasn’t done much advertising, but has been happy with business so far.
