Construction Work Around City Hall to Begin Sunday

Southern California Edison will be working on the west side alley adjacent to City Hall starting at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Southern California Edison will be trenching in the west side alley adjacent to City Hall starting tonight at 10, according to Tony Ramos, Claremont City Manager.
“This construction is part of the continuing Edison vault replacement project along Second Street,” Ramos wrote in a recent report. “To facilitate this work, the alley will be closed off between Second Street and the area just north of the City Hall building. Parking within this portion of the alley will not be available for public use.”
All other parking within the City Hall parking lot, outside of the closure area, will remain available. Crews expected the work to be done by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 22.
