Drivers Badly Injured in Separate Pomona Crashes

Two crashes in Pomona Saturday -- in one of them a driver rear-ended a party bus on Interstate 10 -- sent drivers to trauma centers, a Los Angeles County fire battalion chief said.

A driver suffered major injuries when his older Honda Civic  slammed into the back of a party bus on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway near North Towne Avenue, according to BC Ron Cabrera.

The battalion said over that the driver was taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center; six people on the party bus suffered minor injuries and were taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center,

At about 8 a.m. a two-vehicle crash occurred on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway, at the ramp to the southbound 71 Freeway, Cabrera told Patch.

The injured driver was taken to UC Irvine trauma unit, the battalion chief told Patch.
