The Corner Door Welcomes New Chef Kyle Schutte
Kyle Schutte, formerly of Vu in Marina Del Rey, brings a fresh take on familiar favorites.
Opened for just over a year, The Corner Door’s newest Chef Kyle Schutte is bringing a “fresh and clean” twist to the neighborhood hangout’s soulful menu.
Schutte’s blend of new and old-school techniques complement head bartender Beau du Bois’ eclectic cocktail selection, according to a press release.
“Kyle adds great energy to the kitchen and really complements what Beau does behind the bar,” stated co-owner Todd Jerry in a press release. “Their mindset is the same when it comes to sourcing ingredients and experimenting with techniques, and both share a flair for playful twists on the expected. It’s exciting to see them collaborate.”
Using fresh ingredients from Santa Monica’s Farmers Market, Schutte personalizes familiar favorites such as Jicama tacos. He substitutes tortillas for thinly sliced jicama and loads the tacos with pickled mango, black garlic, candied lime and pink peppercorns. The all craft bar and Beaus signature cocktails including That Girl Is Dangerous with reposado tequila, aperol, lemon juice and vanilla orgeat make for a unique dining experience.
The Corner Door is open for a candlelit dinner, accented with exposed brick in a sleek dining room seven days a week. It is located at 12477 W. Washington Blvd.
