Wild Police Chase Ends with Juvenile Arrest, Crunched Patrol Car

Watch this video of a high-speed chase through a South Pas neighborhood, that ends with a juvenile being dragged out of a car and arrested. A South Pas juvenile, upset over an argument with his family, led police on a high-speed chase, swerved toward motorcycle officers and was dragged from the vehicle before it crashed into a patrol car, authorities said. After stopping the car, police shattered the driver's side window and opened the door, removing the suspect. A bystander shot video of the 11 a.m. incident on July 4, said Officer Richard Lee. Police had responded to a family disturbance call in the 1600 block of Amberwood Drive when the suspect drove away, Lee said. Officers attempted to stop the boy, but he took off at a high rate of speed and lead officers on a vehicle pursuit. The video shows the suspect driving through the same intersection twice. During the pursuit, Lee said, the suspect drove perilously close to several motorcycle officers. A crime report states that the juvenile attempted to hit them. Once officers stopped the vehicle, one of the officers banged on the door and then rapped repeatedly on the glass, shattering the window. After opening the door, and pulling out the suspect, the car rolled into a parked patrol car. Police arrested the juvenile on suspicion of assault.
