4 Injured in Pomona's 10 Freeway Crash, All Airlifted
A bad crash involving four vehicles on the I-10 in Pomona, Calif. sent at least one person to the hospital in a helicopter Aug. 2, 2013.
A Los Angeles County fire captain told Patch that the crash was a single-vehicle rollover and all occupants of that vehicle -- two adults and two young children -- were airlifted to USC trauma center.
Initial reports by the California Highway Patrol that the crash involved four vehicles appear to have been incorrect, the captain said.
One helicopter carried two children and one of the adults and the other chopper took one adult, LACFD Capt. Ben Frascona told Patch over the telephone
A multiple vehicle crash on the I-10 in Pomona Friday injured at least two people who were airlifted from the scene.
The crash on the westbound side, near Kellogg Drive, was reported shortly before 2 p.m.
Four vehicles were involved, a CHP dispatcher told Patch.
One vehicle overturned and ended up on its roof, blocking the far left – or the fast – lane, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Two helicopters landed on the Kellogg exit ramp of the I-10 to pick up a patient and all lanes were shut down to allow the pickup, according to the CHP.
