A problem with Transformers: The Ride at Universal Studios today left some people stranded, but no one was injured, authorities said.
The Transformers ride was stopped "for technical difficulties and we followed standard operating procedures and a small number of people exited the ride," said Audrey Eig of Universal Studios in a statement to Patch. "We expect the ride to resume operations after standard inspections are made."
Firefighters were sent to the attraction in the 3900 block of Lankershim Boulevard at 9:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
About 10 people were stuck on the ride, the fire department reported. Within about an hour, six people were brought to safety, but four were still stranded, fire officials said.
The ride, which includes a track, motion-control technology and big video screens, opened to rave reviews in 2012, with Universal crediting it with an uptick in attendance at its Hollywood amusement park that year.
EDITOR'S NOTE: On a personal note, during our family's recent trip to Universal we were stopped on the Transformers ride, and it was no big deal, we got off, got back on in the front of the line and enjoyed it all over again!
