LAPD Called to Teen Event at the Grove After Crowd Gets out of Control

Police were called after things apparently got a little out of hand at a screening of a movie about the group "One Direction." Below are some photos and video from social media.

Update 1:05 p.m: Eisenman said that she did not have any additional details on the incident, but noted that just one unit was called to the scene, indicating there was likely not too much activity there by the time officers reached the Grove.

Original:
The LAPD was called to a promotional event Saturday morning at The Grove theater after a group of teenagers got out of control, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD Media office.

Eisenman said the report said kids were throwing things, but did not have additional details about why police units were called in.  The call came in at 10:20 a.m, so the full details were not immediately available.

Some comments on Twitter indicated that the teens were trying to get into an early screening of a movie about the band One Direction.  One commenter noted it appeared people were getting "attacked and trampled" at the scene, while another called it a "one direction riot."
