Santa Monica Norms Closes Its Doors
After 49 years in the community, the chain restaurant closed last week. Mixed use housing and retail development projects will be built in its place.
The 24-hour food chain closed its doors for good July 17 with mixed opinions from the community as reported in an earlier story. Texas-based developers Fstar 1601 purchased Norms last year for $13.5 million, according to public records. Mixed use housing and retail development will replace the 49-year-old restaurant at 1601 Lincoln Blvd.
The LAist reported that Norms employees have been offered jobs at it’s other locations. For those who still need a Norm’s fix, the closest ones are located at La Cienega Boulevard, south of Melrose and at 11001 W. Pico Blvd.
