Water District $1.6 Million Installation of New Generators to Start in October

The five-month construction project in Pasadena and La Canada Flintridge will involve some trenching, concrete work and possible road closures. The generators will service pumping stations for the Cresenta Valley and Altadena.

The Foothill Municipal Water District will be installing new emergency generators at it pumping stations in La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena at a cost of $1.6 million starting in October, according to a release sent out by the district.

The generators are used in emergencies when the pumping stations lose power, ensuring that water will still be available for households served by the water district.

The Foothill Water District serves La Canada Flintridge, the unincorporated Crescenta Valley and most of Altadena.

The Pasadena generator project will be done on 1630 Rosemont Avenue near the Rose Bowl and the La Canada one at 540 Berkshire Avenue.

The work will go from October to March and will involve trenching and some concrete work, which will result in some traffic lane closures.
