Fontana events celebrate Public Lands Day

The city mark National Public Lands Day on Saturday with the Volunteer Garden Project between 9 a.m.-noon and the Environmental Educational Fair from 1. to 4 p.m. at the Mary Vagel Nature Center, 11501 Cypress Ave., Fontana.
The Volunteer Garden Project will install California’s native plant gardens and volunteers can learn about water-wise gardening at the nature center. To volunteer, go to Nature.Fontana.org, or 909-349-6994.
The Environmental Educational Fair will provide a follow-up celebration for the day’s hard work. This family friendly event features nature crafts, live animal demonstrations, raffles and prizes and visits with local rangers and animal groups.
