La Verne Historical Society offers tour of Latimer House

The La Verne Historical Society will sponsor a tour of the John Larimer House on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The house, at 3949 Bradford St., was built in 1908 by John A. Larimer.
Larimer managed the Garey Avenue Citrus Groves adjacent to the house until his death in 1926. Hosts John and Sherry Best continue the process of restoration and preservation, including the recent installation of a period dining room chandelier and a British-made “Thomas Crapper” high tank toilet.
Docent-led tours will be followed by refreshments. The tour costs $15, which will include membership in the La Verne Historical Society and a ticket for hourly raffles.
