Pedestrian struck by a train near First Street and Palomares. Roadway closed.


At 0116 hours, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train in the area of First Street and Palomares. Upon arrival, a deceased female adult was located. Union Pacific RR Police responded to the scene and are handling the investigation.

Palomares Avenue will be closed for several hours in both directions at First Street so that intersection should be avoided. Motorists are urged to use either Garey Avenue or Towne avenue to traverse the railroad tracks until the roadway is re-opened.
