FULL OVERNIGHT CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND SR-71 ON FRIDAY, JULY 30
Caltrans is planning a nine-hour closure of southbound Highway 71 from Mission Boulevard to the 60 Freeway from Friday, July 30 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, July 31 at 8 a.m. The closure is to allow the contractor, OHL USA, to place K-rail and to install temporary lane striping in conjunction with the freeway conversion project. Please note that the southbound on-ramps from Mission Boulevard and Rio Rancho Road will close earlier, beginning on Friday at 7 p.m. Click on the attached image for more details.

Pomona Detectives Investigate Homicide
DATE / TIME: Sunday, July 25 2021 at approx. 2131 hrs.
LOCATION: 1100 blk. of S. Reservoir St. Pomona CA.
CRIME: 187 PC – Murder (DR#21-077377)
VICTIM: Male Hispanic adult, Pomona Resident
SUSPECTS: Unknown
UNIT: Investigative Services Division
NARRATIVE: On July 25, 2021 at approx. 2131hours, Pomona Police Officers responded to 1100 blk. of S. Reservoir St in reference to gunshots being fired. Upon arrival, the officers located a male adult down in a yard suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to assume the investigation. There is no suspect information at this time and the motive is unknown. The investigation is still on-going.
